Welcome to Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church |
|
Whoever you are and wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here. We are the first integrated church in Los Angeles, and our membership represents a wide diversity of races, cultures, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientation. Mission Statement We love Jesus and seek to follow him. In this light, we strive to recognize and nurture the Christ in ourselves and in each stranger we meet along the way. With this Love, we encourage all peoples of this church to pursue their individual passion: caretaking of our Mother Earth, the work with elders and youth, the vigil of prayer and meditation, the joys of song. In all these things and by the grace of God, we commit our life to the Sacred Spirit.

Worship at Mt. Hollywood
-
The members and friends of Mount Hollywood Congregational Church welcome all persons, regardless of ethnic heritage, sexual orientation, religious backgrounds, etc.
We believe that each person is unique and valuable.
-
Our history has been devoted to peace and reconciliation for all persons. The cross that has graced our altar for over fifty years is made from the charred embers of a tree from Hiroshima, and represents the church's long standing commitment to issues of justice, notably its fight against the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII.
-
We work closely everyday with a pre-school, Narcotics Anonymous, and Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as various other groups, each of which shares our church building and reaches out into the community.
-
We believe that each person is on a spiritual journey, and that each of us is at a different stage of that journey.
-
We have been in our original church building since 1911.
