"There is a light here." -- John Anson Ford

Mt. Hollywood Congregational is an Open and Affirming, Just Peace Church of the United Church of Christ. We have been in our original church building since 1911. Our history has been devoted to peace and reconciliation for all persons. The cross that has graced our altar for over fifty years is made from the charred embers of a tree from Hiroshima, and represents the church's long standing commitment to issues of justice, notably its fight against the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII.

Whoever you are and wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here. We are the first integrated church in Los Angeles, and our membership represents a wide diversity of races, cultures, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientation. more >
